    FIRST 4sevens single-bay charge!! UH-OH!!

Exact same reading after resting overnight? Sounds like a faulty DMM. 1. Try reading the 18650 with a different DMM 2. Try 1st DMM on another and/or other batteries to see how it reads them.

Do LED lights not throw over water?

Sub Umbra, well said & instruction received. I can concur on your aviation related info based on many years there and related instruction received. The marine issues concur with my very limited civilian experience there, but I'm looking forward to more of that soon (coastal sailing).

    Self Defense with Flashlights

Another treatise on this subject: Flashlight Fighting http://www.amazon.com/dp/1581605021/?tag=cpf0b6-20 For OODA Loop disruption a bright light works. For kubaton techniques a stock Minimag works great. Add this http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/auroralite_hotwire.htm and a tail...

Airline Pilot seeks new light, new to cpf, your advice please...

There are some limits on transport but they don't don't affect most of the traveling public adversely. One can transport common Lithium batteries, both rechargeable and not, in devices and as carefully protected spares as long as they're ONLY transported in carry-on baggage. Lithium batteries...

Airline Pilot seeks new light, new to cpf, your advice please...

http://www.sbflashlights.com/Solarforce-Light-Packages/Solarforce-L2-Ready-to-Run-Package-p32.html The above is a good value for a rechargeable dual power light system. Carry spare non-rechargeable cr123s. It's too bright for flight deck use though. I've been using a Nitecore EX10 from...

Pilot's LED flashlight saves lives from sinking plane.

Yes, it's changed a little. The 2xD cell requirement disappeared a number of years ago. Thankfully. In the air transport industry a light is required anytime. Personal flying I carry one anytime as well, but it's probably not required for daytime non-commercial ops.

Pilot's LED flashlight saves lives from sinking plane.

Yes it's required equipment. Most pilots transport only the one stored in their flight bag. It's usually only taken out for night external preflight inspections or night in-flight airframe icing check. I'll add a recommendation for an EDC. Why?: 1. Will you be able to rapidly acquire a...

Better battery stick for Ultra Stinger?

http://www.batteryspace.com/flashlightbattery6v3000mahnimhbatterystickforthesuperstingerultrastinger771759926jetc.aspx I installed one of these a couple of years ago. I believe you can use the stock charging accessories, it just takes longer. My ac/dc charging cradle's converter was replaced...

I might need a shotgun. please share your security idea.

Caution against pepper spray. You may dose yourself when using it indoors. There are two spray types: Fog & Stream Fog is short but wide coverage not good indoors without your wearing a full mask. Stream is more accurate and longer range. "Splatter" off the perp or missed shot indoors (door...

MagLite upgraded to a Rebel!! (pics in post 34)

I've done this myself when my candle mode Mag 3C /Malikoff LED rolled off the console after a demo/flash-a-holic conversion. Compromised the dome resulting in LED replacement. Used an OTC Seoul P4 which worked almost as well.

    Plia IBC Missing Termination?

My Pila does this too. A couple of WF chargers I have will blip when the battery is rolled in the holder. I suspect Pila's close monitoring notices a connection resistance change and terminates the charge. The other chargers I use just recover and press on. Possibly due to looser tolerances.
