Looking for Someone To Compare the Fenix E30R with the LD30

Great. One more question. They both have the same emitter, but I'm wondering if one or both has a hot spot and flood area or are both just floody with not much of a hot spot. I really prefer to have a distinct hot spot, but a wide enough one. They both have a throw about the same, making...

Looking for Someone To Compare the Fenix E30R with the LD30

It has been quite some time since I've been on Candlepower Forums, but it's time to purchase a flashlight or two. I received an email from the Fenix Store with the two above flashlights. Both throw out 1600 lumens in a compact size. But only one seems to tailstand (or is it just the...

Manker LAD, a new 219c option, alternative to the Tip?

To be a little off topic, I'm waiting to see what the MecArmy SGN7 will be like. It's to be about the same size/shape of the TIP with a 550 lumen max output using a CREE XP G2 S4 LED (compared to the 360 of the TIP). It also is supposed to be able to be used as an alarm and emergency power...

    Smallest light with button

Almost forgot. The Ultra-Tac K18 has a side switch, which is very, very unusual in a AAA style light. It also has 3 light levels, with the highest at 360 lumens under a 10440, so it can be used in low light conditions and can light up a room or yard if need be.

    Smallest light with button

Ultra-Tac K18. It has AAA/10440 format, handling both types of batteries. It throws 360 lumens with 10440 battery. Unfortunately, in my experience, it only seems to fit the unprotected type 10440. It's well made and a perfect form factor for ones keys and front pocket.

    OLIGHT VS FENIX RELIABILITY POLL

I hate to say this, but this is a fundamentally flawed poll. What does this really tell you? People may vote who own only one or even neither of these lights. One brand may have one or two problem lights while the other may have 5 such lights. Many people will vote for one brand based on...

    Zebralight SC62

I was troubled by this at first too. However, I've programmed my high to 350 lm so I can access it directly when moving to the high mode. 1000 lm then is only a double click away. That way I treat the 350 lm as my go to high, but can get to 1000 lm with a quick double click. The 70 lm is a...

    Zebralight SC62

Just brought the sc62 about 2-3 weeks ago. I have single 18650 flashlights for 4 Nitecore lights and a Jetbeam, as well as several cheap Chinese types. The Zebralight is without a doubt the best single 18650 light I own. The beam color is spot on; the balance between hot spot and spill is...

    3x XM-L Flashlight

I have purchased many flashlights on the non-budget board, e.g. from 4-Sevens, Nitecore, Fenix, Jetbeam, etc. I would have to disagree with the overall stereotyping by Norm on the quality of DX lights compared to the regular lights. I agree that the "regular" LED lights are superior, in...

    New Poor-Man's top 10

I would have to nominate the itP A3 EOS (for AAA battery). It is no longer produced, but you can get the XP-G version on Amazon and at Shining Beam (for a while, anyway). Olight, the manufacturer, has taken it back and has a version which Self Built tested. It isn't as powerful as the itP...

    Olight EOS series (i1, i2, i3)

I use my itp A3 EOS with a li-ion 10440. The official specs don't recognize the incredible increase in lumens when used in this configuration. I'm disappointed that this comparison doesn't show li-ion batteries because many people use theirs this way and probably will the Olight flashlights...

    4sevens Quark X AA-2 Review

Is there a reason why you didn't do runtimes and thermal output for NiMH batteries, say Eneloops?

What do you have on your keyring 1xAAA or 1xAA light ?

Re: What do you have on your keychain 1xAAA or 1xAA light ? Agree with all the posters that AA size is too large for keychain--for pocket too. I have something a bit different from the other posters, a Lummi Wee on the keychain, which is 1.3 in long and 0.59 in at the widest point with 50...

    What job do you do?

Re: Already asked? What do you do for a living? Professor: sociology. Definitely don't use them on the job, except for finding things under the desk. Lights used for camping, chasing rabbits off our property, walking though bedroom after wife goes to sleep, and misc everyday things after...
