So the energy discharged by the cap is not lost, merely transferred to the LED. I believe the battery would never see the transient current with a cap in parallel with it also.
I kind like my MM incan, 1 in the snoot and 1 in the tail. I may just love it when there is a big EMP & THE LED's die. If you multiply average lumens by the run time my LED excels by a factor of about 40, 1 battery is cheaper than 40. I EDC both, but the incan is for spare cells or EMP which...
I have cleaned and lubed the threads, can't do without the ring, it turns itself on eventually, sure does work one handed with out the ring. This light is one of my backups I EDC.
My ambiguity. I left the Body untouched. I believe the module probably pushed farther inside the head over time. I took just enough on the battery end of the head to connect 100% yet prevent over pressure.
I just wondered how common that problem might be.
Has anyone had the problem of running out of threads before the head contacts the negative ring? In other words not enough gap between the head and body behind the o ring? My twisty will not turn farther than barely on.
What's so interesting about a flashlight is that on the one end of the beam you have the source of light made up of various shapes and sizes of chunks of metal and glass containing the latest circuits for boosting or bucking those little cans of juice to drive the latest highest efficiency most...
If I understand right PWM is less efficient al low levels. I suppose there would be hysteresis loss in the caps. Hadn't considered that for one thing. About constant current, is that like having a resister in series I wonder, except for regulation, do you know? I am from the old school of...
Things don't often do what I think they will do but they often do what I know they will do till they fail. The problem is I don't know what they will do in tis case.
What I am missing is how the capacitor would require the energy to charge it from 0 to 2.5 volts on every pulse, if it was standing at 2.5V after initial charging- a few pulses maybe - depends on the pulse width, sure this initial energy wil be lost in the source, Are you saying the same loss...
