Where did all the oldtimers go.

Re: Any oldschool katz still around? I'm still around, sporadically. Still love lights. Just too busy to spend hours on CPF.

Where did all the oldtimers go.

I'm still here and I've been visiting CPF a lot more often lately. I even bought a couple of new lights recently. My collection is a fraction of what it once was. I now only buy lights that I have a real need for so I'm more of a user than a collector.

Where did all the oldtimers go.

I'm still here as well. Mostly lurking and following threads which spark my interest. Most definitely still a flashaholic!

How bright is bright enough for a road bike?

How bright is bright enough for a road bike you ask...? The answer is as bright as you feel you need. For me bright enough is 800-1000 lumens. This level of light allows others to easily see me in the daytime. At night it allows me to not only "be seen" but to actually see the road ahead quite well.

    convince me i don't wark a quark 123 (or that i do =P)

Quark 123 R5 emitter (non tactical) or a Sunwayman M10R R5 emitter. Both 1x123 lights and both are simply beautiful.

    E1b strobe!

I've experienced flickering with low cells but never anything that was strobe like.

    Surefire Saint headlamp? (Part 1)

Re: Surefire Saint headlamp? I do a lot of night time mountain climbing and I've been wanting a 1x123 headlamp for some time, this should fit the bill nicely. It has a simple interface that doesn't require pressing small buttons which I will appreciate once the winter climbing season begins...

So what are your other hobbies ?

Hobbies other than flashlights are as follows - High Altitude Alpine Mountaineering - I'm routinely away on climbing trips in interesting parts of the world four to six times per year. Cycling - Both long distance and track racing.

I'm still here. I don't post as much as I used to but I still read through all threads that spark my interest and I'm still a flashaholic.

    Post your bicycle pics

The Bar-end shifters work well. The tape I used is actually yellow cloth bar tape. After applying the tape I brushed on six coats of hand mixed amber shellac. The Moustache bars work well too. They allow for three or four different hand positions, more than enough for all types of riding.
