    ARc 4+ sales...why??

I have a Nuwai 0.5W 1xAAA, and am quite pleased with the output. I've compared it to several Arc AAA's, several Dorcy AAA's, and even to a couple of Peak 1xAAA 3xLED lights. The Nuwai 0.5W is noticeably brighter than *any* of the other 1xAAA lights I have - even brighter than the Peak 3xLED.

HDS EDC 60 GT vs. Nuwai Q-III

I can't compare directly to the HDS because I haven't one, but I do have an Arc4+ (first), forerunner to the HDS EDC models being sold today. So I just recieved my new QIII today. I was actually expecting the QIII to be brighter than my Arc4+. It isn't. The QIII I got put out a tad *less*...

Best way to light up a breifcase?

A Photon 3 covert might do nicely if you can find something to hang it from. The shrouded LED should help keep glare to a minimum.

Arc Flashlight Going Out of Business

God bless, Peter. Arc will be sorely missed. Thanks for the fantastic products, and the great service.

    Pointless Dorcy AAA tweak

Bill, I recall seeing where some modder here (can't remember exactly who) got pretty decent side-emitter type results from a standard 5mm LED by grinding out sort of a shallow cup or cone shape down into the top of the LED. Seems like the cup was maybe around 1.5-2mm deep, and the bottom of the...

More Arc5 information.. (proto photos inside)

Heh. It's all relative. $250 doesn't seem like all that much once you compare it to $400 purses, and the $200 matching wallets to go with them. I find it helpful to explain it to my wife that way. It's almost a guaranteed pass for me at least once a year.

More Arc5 information.. (proto photos inside)

Arc5 is starting to sound *really* good, Peter. The Arc4+ is one of my favorites, but there are two features I'd find irresistible in the Arc5. Those features are "brighter", and "smaller". =)~ I'm hopeful the Arc5 will fulfill both. $250ish for something a bit smaller, twice as much...

Arc4+ tail cap mod, version 1.1

My wife had some of those small textured rubber sheets that are sold at WM to help open jars in the kitchen. I got the thickest one I could find (which turned out to be about 0.051"), traced a circle on it with the OD of the Arc4's end cap, cut it out, trimmed it down to fit the end cap's ID...

    Most Favorite ARC you have..

Arc 4+ is my favorite, but then I also carry an Arc AAA white (standard) on my keychain. I've a AAA LE, two or three AAA turquoise "EV", and a first run Arc LS cyan HD too, but I don't EDC them any more. I'd EDC the LE instead of the standard, but I just haven't been able to bring myself to...

The Quest for the Best.... Glovebox Lights

Had a hard time deciding between the dat2zip MADMAX modded 2AA minimag (with lithium AA) and a SureFire G2. Naturally, I decided to keep them both in my glovebox. The G2 is sporting a P61 module, so between those two lights I've got a good selection of bright vs. runtime.

    Which watch/flashlight?

Paulr, I agree there's no substitute for a good set of EDC lights. If I get one of these, it'll be more or less for the gadget factor. I wonder how the Victorinox Night Vision compares to a single 5mm LED light, such as the Arc AAA or a Photon. Sounds like it may be on par with those...

    Which watch/flashlight?

These two have caught my eye recently... * Victorinox Night Vision * Dakota TORCH Anyone have a chance to compare these side by side? I'd be interested to hear your opinions. Any others I should look at?

Lost the lens from the turbohead on my Nanomate

Re: Lost the lens from the turbohead on my Nanomat Streamlight makes the KeyMate. Nifty little light, even in the stock configuration with its 5mm LED.
