Looking for a tight-beam thrower (no sidespill)

Thank you to jabe1, jacobd, and Monocrom! These are what I'm looking for.

Looking for a tight-beam thrower (no sidespill)

Well, the LEP's are super expensive, and I know traditional LEDs can do the job. The Sk-68 I mentioned earlier can do 300 lumens, and it's only $3. I also have a cheap spotlight that I bought for $8 some years ago that runs on 4AA batteries and puts out a claimed 250 lumens. I know the...

Looking for a tight-beam thrower (no sidespill)

I am looking to get a really bright, very tight-beamed light. Something like what a spotlight would put out. I already have something that can do around 300 lumens with a 14500 battery. It's called an Sk-68 light. I guess that's the style number since there are many brands that make it...

Is a USB handwarmer safe (regarding fast battery discharging)?

Well, the manufacturer is Ocoopa, which I've never heard of before. However, the Amazon reviews seem really good, with quite a few people buying them. I'm 99.999% sure it's Chinese, but isn't everything?

Is a USB handwarmer safe (regarding fast battery discharging)?

True about needing a thermostat. A flashlight's heat should also be exposed to the open air in order to not over-heat.

Is a USB handwarmer safe (regarding fast battery discharging)?

I remember those. They were sold at the same time I got my charcoal stick version. I didn't get the JonE one because I was leery of using a liquid fuel. The solid charcoal fuel sticks seemed safer. Now I'm not sure they can be found anymore. EDIT: I guess I only had to look. Amazon has the...

Is a USB handwarmer safe (regarding fast battery discharging)?

After hearing about lithium batteries used in vaping devices exploding in the user's pocket, I thought it would be a good idea to ask about lithium batteries used in USB handwarmers, like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H3LZGSP/?tag=cpf0b6-20 In order to create a good amount of heat, I...

How can I keep contacts clean?

At $31 for a 2oz. bottle, you're right about it not being inexpensive. Is there anything more "common" that can be found around the house that would work? Vinegar, alcohol, peroxide, paint thinner, etc.?

How can I keep contacts clean?

Some of my cheap lights ( 3AAA lights which uses a battery holder) flicker a lot. I tried to remedy it by wrapping paper around the battery holder to hold it more tightly in place, but that didn't work. Then I cleaned up the contacts and batteries by simply rubbing both ends of each battery...

when will e car battery tech come to flshlights?

7,000? When one of these car battery packs wears out enough to not be able to run the car, they would no doubt have plenty of life left individually to be used in flashlights. An electric car owner who replaces his car's battery pack would have 7,000 18650 cells that he could sell to people (at...

    Question about solar chargers

Well, I got my order today from Amazon. I tried everything out with interesting results. First, under cloud cover, I plugged in my phone which was at 56%. After 25 minutes, it was up to 60%. Pretty good for being under the clouds! The battery charger I got with it is another story. When I...

    Question about solar chargers

I've already placed the order. I already have another charger, but it is AC only, and it specifies that it's output is 360 mah for 4AA. This made me think 450 mah for each battery was kind of high.

    Question about solar chargers

Actually, the ad says that each battery gets up to 450MA, although I wouldn't mind seeing that slowed down since I'm not really a fan of fast charging. I am going to assume that if I wanted to reduce the charge rate, I could reduce the amount of sunlight hitting the panels. There are 3 panels...

    Question about solar chargers

The charger I was going to get is the Tenergy TN474U. I tried posting a link to it and the solar panel before but they don't show up for some reason.
