Have you ever worn out your threads?

On the flashlight? Damaged threads yes. None "worn out" since I discovered Surefire ... Lo these many years ago. Since then most threading issues seem to come from trying to re thread it back on. Lube helps in that regard. On side note I remember flashlights with no threading...

A Fauxton passed on is a good deed.

How many did you pass on. Under what circumstances? :candle:

Power Outage, How many Lumens, How many batteries? (for lights and more)

If only for power outages Hand out Fauxtons. Because... ...in a power outage a Fauxton becomes a portable personal light switch. :hitit:

    Favorite User Interface

User Interface... I really dig the Zebralight SC600 UI. Even more the control ring of an HDS Rotary. One handedness IMHO is a must for any UI...

What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

HDS Oveready 170 lumen 219B Rotary. Why? Beautiful Beam. Marvelous one handed user interface.

You start to MEASURE like Selfbuilt! Don't mean to imply I'm anywhere near to that level yet myself. :)

What Headlamp would be comparable to the toughness of an HDS Systems EDC

A case could be made that such an emitter would require something like a helmet to be feasible? :candle:

This is a mental Elzetta exercise...

17mm original or bored 18mm 3 cell body?

This is a mental Elzetta exercise...

    3 bored for 18650 battery compartments. (Bravo's) 2x18mm bored 3-cell battery compartments. (Charlie's with 18490 IMR batteries.) 2xoriginal 17mm 3-cell Charlie's. (17500's no. Wonky. Haven't found any 17490 IMR so 3xCR123A's only.) 1xoriginal 17mm 2-cell Bravo. (Been using 17670's with...

    Proper Elzetta head/dropin assembly procedure?

Is there some procedure to assemble Elzetta host the head especially/o-ring/lens/gasket/latest Malkoff M61 drop in properly? Stacking said parts on top of M61 drop in or laying same parts in head and assemble by feel...there's got be something better. :poke: Surefire hosts already have lens out...

The Official Malkoff Junkie thread - Part 2

M61SHO/MD4/hi-lo ring/2x18650...Figured this might be better for ultimate runtime with truly useful regulated output (for emergencies esp on lo). What to do with displaced M91B? Oveready's bored 3 cell (2x18490) hi/lo or MD3 (2x18500) hi/lo? Original thought was M61SHO with Oveready...

    Best all rounder you own.

Peak 17500 QTC from Oveready with 3 battery adapters (AA/14500, AAA/10440, CR123/16340). With the SS momentary plunger, black Al body, blackened Moddoo pocket clip and SS head, it looks good, tailstands reliably and has "just right" knurling. Smmooooth threads mean you don't need two hands...

    HDS Systems EDC # 18

Recently acquired Nichia 219A Clicky and Nichia 219B Rotary. Both came with the flush tailcaps and both tailstand perfectly. I mean 2 in a row in just one month! (Have 2 other flush models but they're old and don't even wobble they just fall over.) Just luck? Anyone else?
