li-ion battery pack 6 wires why?

maybe its just 3 connections, and 2 wires each in parallel to reduce resistance? plus, minus, and temp sensor.

Driving a led with high voltage, low current?

thanks for the wonderful answers guys, exactly what i was looking for. the thing is, i will do video lights with 200W driver like this (33v/6A) using 30 Cree XML-T6 leds (3 series of 10 leds, connected in parallel) the leds will be run at 2A each (of 3A max) so they are good. but i was...

Driving a led with high voltage, low current?

i was wondering, i remember tutorials on the web about leds being more "current" sensitive devices than voltage. for example, can a led 3.3v 1A LED be driven at 6.6v 0.5A? or 13.2v 0.25A (and so on?)

    Cree XM-L T6 - bad contact INSIDE?

i talked about it to focalprice, and they said the problem was passed to the department, and assured next shipments will have better packaging to avoid damage to the leds let's see on my next purchage... ;)

    Cree XM-L T6 - bad contact INSIDE?

each led was in a mini ziplock bag, and the leds in a bubble-bag envelope. no extra protection. i will talk with focalprice support about this, so they can ship properly... i will make 200W leds arrays, as they are in parallel/series, one of them cannot fail, or the current would overload the...

    Cree XM-L T6 - bad contact INSIDE?

yes, i cut the silicone over the contacts to test there. they where purchased on stars (from focalprice.com) but they do not work also connecting on these pads on the led. the connection between the led and the star is ok, no bad contact there. pressing the led on the star do not change...

    Cree XM-L T6 - bad contact INSIDE?

hi, im doing my own lights for a while, but today i was ready to make another one, and in a purchase of 10 XM-L T6, 3 of them where not working. i tested all of them in the DMM (diode test) 7 light up, 3 do not. then connected in a proper led driver for XM-L (3.3v, 1A) no light. then i tried...

    Voltage/Current control for 36v, 200W leds?

hi, i'm building 200w led panel with XM-L leds (30 leds running at 36v, 6a) using a 220v AC led driver. so far, so good. but i'm thinking in making them usable with batteries (maybe SLA, Li-Ion, LiFePO4...) so my question... anyone knows a driver/controller for this kind of setup? (200w 36v...

Batteries not being mailed from china

i while ago DX told about changes in shipping li-ion batteries, then they started to ship all 18650 in plastic cases. they said this change was to make "shipping li-ion inside regulations". i get 18650 cell regularly, last 1 week ago. never a problem. (im in brazil)

Over-discharged an unprotected Panasonic 18650 to 3.38V - now what?

you have any method to do test capacity? like a hobby charger? i would charge, discharge, charge, discharge. if you got constant values on discharge, chose to the original cell capacity, would be ok.

Is there a new li-ion battery tech that is normal to be 4.3 volts @100%?

a few "high-ends" cell phones are using "4.35v" cells i believe. (instead of traditional 4.2v) i tested some of my old nokias and they don't fully charge the cell (4.15v instead of 4.2v), i believe to extend cell life (lower termination voltage = longer life) so must be the same with 4.35v...

Use hobby charger for capacity test?

i have a turnigy accucell 6, great charger, not too powerful, but great for the price. but for capacity test, i recommend another charger. the voltage difference when discharging is high and progressive worst depending on the voltage. (measuring on the charger connector) now i got a Turnigy...
