    Jaxman E2 L: One good light (3 * CREE XPG2 S4 LED)

The Jaxman is not cheap at all. I use mine often, usually as a camera light source. It has been turned on for many hours under different conditions and I even had it run hot a few times (my wife uses it as a bathroom light in hotels with poor lighting and then forgets about it leaving it on max...

CRAZY Sofirn C8F: Triple Cree XP-L, ramping, forward clicky+side switch, 3500 lumens

The C8F is one of the most interesting C8-variants I have ever bought. It also takes 21700 cells and is between 40-50 USD including such a cell (!). Please enjoy my review and the outdoor footage in the second half of the video:

SOFIRN SP32A V2.0: Review after EDC & duty use

Here is my review after using this little light for a week on constant basis. I usually would not bother with a light that does not feature a mechanical tail switch as I prefer those on the job but Sofirn actually gave me a free sample so I had to try it out. It actually did well. Sofirn’s new...

Review of the Armytek Dobermann Pro (XHP35/warm)

Here is my update after using the light every day for 2 months, including many night shifts. I also do hard testing of the water resistance:

Review of the Armytek Dobermann Pro (XHP35/warm)

Reviewing a top-tier flashlight. Why pay about 100 USD for a rather plain looking tactical light? My take on an answer:

FiTorch MR35: No reasons to hype the light: Weak spots and major fail.

Here is my detailed explanation for the problem: No solution as of yet.

FiTorch MR35: No reasons to hype the light: Weak spots and major fail.

I solved the riddle: Entry point is the side switch. It has a O-ring but the water travels through the side switch. So it does not travel on the side of the switch but leaks into the switch and then into the light! It is not the USB-port cover however weak it seems.

FiTorch MR35: No reasons to hype the light: Weak spots and major fail.

I took the FiTorch MR 35 apart. Head is glued. However, there are some ways to open it without causing damage. I could not take the driver out, it does not move at all. All the O-rings are 100%. Every seal seems fine. Yet water leaks into the light every single time. The USB-Port is very weakly...

FiTorch MR35: No reasons to hype the light: Weak spots and major fail.

Someone in the german forum TLF tested it now and says it is fine after 2h under water. It would help if more owners conducted a little IPX-8 test. I would dismantle the head of my MR35 but I want to wait what the customer service says and also I have little time right now. I am not sure...

FiTorch MR35: No reasons to hype the light: Weak spots and major fail.

So you don't mind to do a quick IPX8 test then? I may just have the single bad unit or a bad batch.

FiTorch MR35: No reasons to hype the light: Weak spots and major fail.

The FiTorch MR35 is a unique light that seems to be of very good quality. But there are major problems: + not IPX-8 as claimed: mine got damaged after 15min in the sink, very shallow water. Possible water ingress through USB-port (was 100% closed) but more likely side switch. + cheap USB-port...

    A time-tested, budget-friendly & functional holster

In my video I show one of these rotating flashlight holsters that I use a lot on my job and outdoors as well. This one is sold by Nite Ize but there are other sellers out there. Those holsters are 100% robust, almost universal (but best for smaller lights with a clip), go with a molle system and...

TACKLIFE LFL3A (Thrower/1x 26650) outstanding build quality for a low price

Update: The light charges up to 4.23V and stops, not 4.19V as stated in the video. The error comes from the fact that it turns green at about 4.0V but still continues to charge after that.

TACKLIFE LFL3A (Thrower/1x 26650) outstanding build quality for a low price

The TACKLIFE LFL3A is built to last – 100% water resistant, USB charging port covered under tailcap, massive reflector, tight hot spot, neutral white, simple UI, status LED, including 26650 5000mAh cell (protected as it seems) – for under 30 USD. 1300 Lumens max but thermally stable. Check this...

Sofin SP30A: Grandad's High Power LED light

The Sofirn SP30A is a good deal, delivers what it promises and is a safe, comfortable light: While it does nothing exciting and is certainly not innovative it has a few small aspects that make it better than some competitors. I like the illuminatetd, large side switch and the tail switch...
