    SureFire G2D-FYL

Too bad, that makes it useless for me. High should have been first.

Lights for military, and SAR person's

HID lights are impressive (I have a few), so are the MaxaBeam, but most of the time they stay at home simply because they are too heavy and offer too little runtime. If you are doing mountain rescue at foot in the mountains you want to reduce the weight of your lights (and all other equipment)...

Lights for military, and SAR person's

Mine (and others) are the same brightness as the E1B and that has been measured to over 80 lumens, so it is more like 80 than 60. I have chosen the E2L as backup because the very good balance between runtime, output and size/weight. With 6 hours runtime I don't have to worry about the batteries...

Lights for military, and SAR person's

Hi, I'm a volunteer SAR and my current setup is Dereelight DBS singlemode R2 as primary light and SF E2L (latest version) as backup. I'm definitely going to get the SF M3LT. Have also been thinking about a Legion II.

    Surefire to shorten their clips...

I wish they could make them easy to take off so they would be more optional to use. I guess I'm not the only one who never use the clip and finds it just in the way.

    My 2009 Surefire LX2

Seeing the difference in regulation between LX2 and E2DL I'm starting to wonder if the head on LX2 and LX1 will be the same, like E1L and E2L was back when they both used KL1. Can you test if it will run on a single cell?

    Rogue Flashlights by ICON

Re: Icon Flashlight by Surefire I think it was essential for SureFire to do this to get a larger part of the consumer market. There are couple of reasons for this: - They can not make AA powered lights under the SureFire brandname. - The lights need to be competitive in price. But if they sold...

Fenix PD30 or L2D for night cycling?

I used the PD30 for a short while, but it didn't have enough throw for me. Now I have a E2DL on my helmet and is much happier with that.

Cree Achieves 161 Lumens per Watt from a High-Power LED

    If they follow their current bin coding pattern, then we get the following bin codes: R2 114 - 122 R3 122 - 130 R4 130 - 138 R5 138 - 146 R6 146 - 154 T2 154 - 162 T3 162 - 170 T4 170 - 178 T5 178 - 186 T6 186 - 194 U2 194 - 202 U3 202 - 210 ... From P4 to R2 there is a jump of 5 bin codes...

    Surefire E2DL bests Malkoff M60

MrGman, I find it kind of ridiculous that you claim that the only way to know the lumen output for sure is with a good reading from an IS, but then you go ahead and compare the lights in a store. And comparing the beam breakdown is of no use if you don't consider the size of the hotspot. If you...

Another (but much more expensive) option is to get a KX2C head and get a body and switch for it at BST.

How many lumens on low do you guys like?

I used to use a L1 LuxIII with diffuser (1 lm), but now I have switched to E2L with diffuser (3 lm) since that is still very comfortable to night adapted eyes while it let me see if our puppy has pied on the floor, something the L1 was unable to.
