    Anyone tested 1.5V 14500 AA Lithium-ion batteries?

Yeah, I'm thinking about the Xtar batteries specifically for very low drain applications, like garage door monitors and smart locks. Specifically, poorly designed ones that don't work well with NiMh batteries. Ones that cut out at 1.25 v per cell, leaving a lot of capacity in the battery. Well...

Thanks everyone! I'll try the Xtar ones.

    Anyone tested 1.5V 14500 AA Lithium-ion batteries?

I've been looking at 1.5V 14500 AA lithium-ion batteries for a while but haven't found any with good reviews. I need a few for low discharge applications that don't work well with NiMh batteries, i.e. they cut off at 1.25V because of poor circuit design. I hate to keep using alkaline batteries...

So the lowest setting only consumes 750 µA. Crazy.

WHAAAAA? You ran a discharge test for 200 days?

Ok, I'm curious. I thought I was a flashlight nerd, but I may not be deep in enough. Maybe I'm just more interested in ultralight headlamps for running. I have a Fenix E35 v3 and I can't really imagine what would be that much better about the sc65c or other zebralights. I can guess the CRI...

Interesting. I've never been concerned about the hotspot bouncing. That makes sense. I previously had an H502 flood headlamp that was really wide style. Then I switched to the H52 with the standard beam and it was much better. I've been thinking about upgrading to the H53c N for better CRI...

Oh, I don't want that. I intentionally don't want the floody version since the wide part of the beam blinds people I'm running with.

    Cool! What's the DC fix?

I tested at 0.2A discharge. Pretty conservative to get the highest possible capacity reading and match my previous tests. I probably should test at 1A, which is close to what the headlamp will run them at.

I like the non-floody version for running to prevent blinding my running partners. I think the issues mentioned with 14500s could be fine for my use case (~1 hr run time, only on highest setting, charge after each use). Plus, the 14500s are cheap enough that if I damage one by over discharging...

    Zebralight SC53w 198 Lm Test - Eneloop Pro vs Vapcell H10 & F12

Yup. I have a Fenix hm65r-t which is great, but heavy. I like the lightweight Zebra light h52. My night runs are rarely longer than 1 hour.

If you only use it on high 1 and recharge when it drops to medium, that seems like it would work, right? I'd be using their latest headlamp.
