Anyone tried out the new Magishine 1200 light?

I'm pretty happy with the 2 Magishine 900's that I bought from Geomangear (with a few mods like extra heat sink compound and sealing the bettery packs). Now they are selling a 1200 lumen Magicshine light...

    REVIEW! Planet Bike Superflash Stealth

Here is an alternative that performs as well for $10 (probalby made by the same mfg.) http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/19340-225_SETSF9-2-Accessories-35-Lights/Sette-ST-316-Glo-Safety-Light.htm There is a Youtube comparing these to the PBSF and he says it a little brighter and has a slightly...

    17W cheap ebay bike/flashlights - for real?

17W is totally for real, it's a "model number" only, 17W doesn't mean 17 Watts, it means we want you to send us money for a cheap light that some people think has 17 Watts of output and runs for a long time on 3 AAA batteries. Of course it doesn't have 17 watts of output and they don't say it does.

    still like HID?

Alan, If your HID light is dead or too expensive to repair, do look into the DX/Geoman light. I bought 2 of them, took one apart, removed a little piece of aluminum swarf stuck in it, put some extra heat sink compound between the inside housing and the case/outside housing and some heat sink...

    Two P7 LED conversions

Very nice and you're reusing stuff that you probably wouldn't use otherwise (the viewpoint lights).

Help with modifying Dinotte 200L (AA) battery pack

Lynx-Arc, good idea for protection, but the downside is .6 V forward bias drop across the diode which means you would be throwing away some power and runtime. Running 2 packs in parallel is riskier if you have a cell short or put a cell in backwards, but a lot simpler and should extend runtime...

Help with modifying Dinotte 200L (AA) battery pack

2 packs in parallel-yes I've run 2 standard dinotte AA battery packs in parallel connected to either a Dinotte headlight or taillight or both. The 2 lights and battery packs are on a helmet. If you're going to do this it's important to use batteries that test to similar capacity for all 8 cells...

    Dinotte 5W mod

FluffyTapeworm, Great mod, quick question, what would be the best thickness for the rectangular copper piece with the holes in it used in the second mod that is screwed directly to the body? Would it make any difference which optic was used (for calculating copper thickness) Thanks in advance

    Custom Light Finally Done

I'm new, but will provide feedback as requested. The housing and base look like they have a lot of machining time on them, Personally I would like to see a bit more of the machining going into creating heat fins to increase surface area and cooling capability. Of course you have to design it so...

    best (led) bike tail light

Re: best (led) bike tail light-Dinotte The Dinotte taillight is the brightest taillight I have found, it's just super super bright. I have a double set of the Niterider taillights that used to be the best one could buy, run off a pack of 10 individual AA NiMh cells in series, the Dinotte is...
