    Klarus MiX6 vs Fenix LD01

I've been carrying my titanium Klarus MiX6 daily for more than five years. I wear it on titanium chain around my neck, attached with a mini-clip (along with a ti Inka pen and a ti pill vial with my meds) . Probably my most carried and most used light out of the dozens I have. It is absolutely...

    What does your EDC weigh?

My normal EDC consists of a carbon fiber Spyderco Chaparral knife, titanium Klarus MiX6 on a titanium chain around my neck, and an elactic sleeve in my pocket with a ti Preon 1 light, ti Inka pen, and a ti AG Russell 3.0 lockback knife. Total weight of all that is 5.6 oz. Barely even know it is...

    maggie valley

My wife and I spent a couple days of our honeymoon there 18 years ago, and have been back about half a dozen times since. One of the reasons we love it is that it is a lot less "touristy" than other areas of the Smoky Mts. Definitely check out the Blue Ridge Parkway, both for the scenic driving...

Battery type for long term storage

Another vote here for lithium primaries. All five of our cars get lithium primary powered lights, generally a mix of AA, AAA, and 123-cell lights. Several of the lights have even gone well past the expiration date on the batteries and the lights/still worked fine after being kept in the cars for...

Klarus XT2C peeps, notice an output boost using two CR123a's vs the single 18650?

I'm the opposite, I have the XT2C but have only used CR123 primaries, don't have any 18650's.

What to do with a SF 12ZM ?????

Re: What to do with a SF 12 ZM????? Yes, it is collectible. I had one a few years back. IIRC I bought it for around $100 (used) and resold it a year or two later for over $200. In your situation, since you're interested in a user light, not a collectible shelf queen, I'd recommend selling it...

A reminder to never lend out lights...

I enjoy helping people, whether that means giving away tools (IE knives, flashlights, multitools) or lending them to someone in need. I have friends and acquaintances who aren't the most responsible people in the world, but I still lend tools to them, but typically not the more expensive stuff...

    upgraded Mini Mags

I've got at least a dozen AA and AAA MiniMags I have upgraded to LED over the years, probably half of them using Terralux modules. Never had a problem with any of the Terralux LED's, not sure it is worth it to buy a new incan Minimag just to buy the Terralux LED drop-in, but for those old...

Gruesome Walking Dead Zombie Merge Horror. Which flashlight would you EDC?

Re: The Walking Dead tribute. Which flashlight would you EDC? LOL, sorry to break it to you, that isn't a flashlight, that is a column mounted automatic transmission gearshift lever from the Ford Taurus Lori wrecked. She broke it off and stabbed the walker in its eye with it. Edit: I went back...

    2 Pet Peeves, anyone concur?

For #1 at least, if a flashlight can't handle having the batteries dropped in while completely vertical, it is a fragile POS that I wouldn't want to own anyways, not a tool to light things up.

Surefire no longer requiring MAP pricing?

AFAIK they still have the policy, although they have had a major price drop recently, and quite a few retailers are offering close-out deals on discontinued Surefire products.

3 x AA Mini Maglites - are they real?

They were LED only, no 3xAA incan MiniMags. I was just in one of our local Walmarts tonight again, and they have at least 25 or 30 (black and gray) hanging on the shelves, marked down to $20.xx

    Maglite Idea

I have a 6D Mag with one of the older 3-mode 3xLED Terralux drop-ins in it. I do consider the 6D Mag a bit too long and unweildy to be really useful, especially indoors, I generally prefer the 4D Mag for most tasks.

3 x AA Mini Maglites - are they real?

Out of production. Most places are sold out. Our local Walmart still has several, I have a black one, I think I'll get a gray one while I still can.

Who carry lights on their neck?

Heavy? The titanium Klarus MiX6 I wear around my neck weighs 20.5 grams (3/4 oz) with a lithium AAA cell, split ring, and micro-clip. The titanium chain the light hangs from weighs 2.2 grams. I usually don't even realize it is there, I have to feel for the light to make sure I'm wearing it.
