    New guy first question

I design and build these for a living for a North American Company. Check the following before opening the TD: 1. Ensure that the control box is functional...check all fuses, ensure each channel (if present) is functional (use a voltmeter). 2. Check all your external wiring for bad...

LEDs with a spectral output similar to Sodium Vapor?

They also make "turtle safe" streetlights for areas along the beaches where sea turtles nest. They have a slightly yellower look to them too and are readily available. Although the yellower colour reduces your CRI.

LED bulbs don't work in outdoor 2-bulb security/sensor light fixture

By chance did it have a dusk to dawn setting that uses a photosensor to only turn on during the day?

About the the operating voltage of the headlight

Re: About the the operating voltage if the headlight Unfortunately there is no legal upgrade for your car. Any modification of your headlight to add a different light source then what it was intended for, will not yield the same output characteristics as the intended light source. I would...

    LED headlight bulbs illegal?

Such a light source does not exist...yet. Don't be confused that an LED is a point source, or that you can use an off the shelf optic to create such an effect. There are LED "filament" looking leds on the market now (see Edison Optoelectronics), but they are not a true filament and do not...

    Flat top beam shaper optics?

Have a look at back lighting optics from Ledil and Carclo. They tend to smooth the lambertian profile that most LEDs emit. I think the optic from Ledil is the Emerald and I'm not sure what the one from Carclo is. Think you can order both from Digikey.

    LED LIGHT BARS

Wow...didn't realize it was that large an area. I spend most of my time in the amber zone which is quite small by comparison. Then I guess it has got to be the higher lumen value with the cooler white LEDs (thus better for marketing), and probably the whole "bluer" is better idea.

Yeah...just go through Amazon. Got mine in less than a week.

    LED LIGHT BARS

From what I remember, the manufacturers build to the SAE white spec. which is centered around the 6300K colour temp. I think it ranges from about 5000K to about 6800K, but it is actually a small area on the 1931 CIE colour chart.

What is the curious little second chip on some Luxeon Rebel LEDs?

Actually weren't they under the dome closer to the die? As Luxeon increased the size of the rebel die, they would have had to move the TVS outside the dome thus making it more visible.

What is the curious little second chip on some Luxeon Rebel LEDs?

If this was the case, there would be more pads on the rebel to have access to the TVS. It is strictly for ESD protection. It would be interesting to have access to the TVS for secondary uses, but it would increase the cost of the LEDs.

    V-leds?

Re: V-leds.com? When you say "utilize the reflector in the housing correctly..." what are you using as your testing fixture and photometer? A reflector that is designed for another light source (ie. halogen lamp, incandescent, other LED, etc...) will not work the same with a different light...

    This light won't work..help

You might want to have a look in the automotive section of this forum. Systems like these are actually illegal as they do not produce the proper beam pattern. Yeah, I know that they are just reversing lights but they could be a sticky point if a police officer does notice them and decides to...

    LED HPS Retrofit

Actually, some pics of the light stand may help the rest of us recommend you a suitable replacement. If you are planning on having to modify the light to accommodate an off the shelf solution, perhaps you may be able to replace the entire head instead of just the bulb and socket. You may also...

34" 180w led light bar voltage

Assuming the lightbar is LED the answer is no. These systems feature constant current drivers that adjust with the fluctuating voltage. As you increase the voltage the current supplied to the LED will not change, thus remaining the same brightness.
