Rovyvon S21... Is the quality comparable to a Fenix?

I didn't mean you were a city slicker, but a large part of the flashlight uboxing/test/reviews online are shot in the middle of town, by people who seem to own 150 "preferred lights", and full drawers of "not so amazing lights"... Not sure how they can tell which one lasts the course. As for...

Rovyvon S21... Is the quality comparable to a Fenix?

This one has been with me every day for 8 years or so: 100-120 days per year out in the bush, hunting, chasing poachers, breaking things and fixing things, and the rest of the time always at hand - in the pocket, in the glove box, on the tablestand, used almost every single day. You can see that...

Rovyvon S21... Is the quality comparable to a Fenix?

I've had several Fenix over ten years and more, used every day in the African bush, and they're top notch lights. Rovyvon is an unknown quantity... That's why I was asking.

Rovyvon S21... Is the quality comparable to a Fenix?

Thanks for the info! I have no problem with the strobe, I actually had to use strobe a couple of times in real life, and find that useful if you have direct access to it. What is the problem with the switch, and how can that be screwed up when turning on? Is it not a "last mode memory" affair...

Rovyvon S21... Is the quality comparable to a Fenix?

I saw the features of the Rovyvon S21, which is a good contender for the Fenix PD40R V3 - on paper. Prices are in the same ballpark, so the question is... How does the Rovyvon stand against the Fenix, quality-wise?

    Thrunite TN12 Pro

Hope I'm not too late... 😋 I bought one thinking it was a good configuration at reasonable price. Well... The body is well made, anodizing is ok, looks are fine. But... The tailswitch is gritty and mushy, feels like a $5.00 light. The side switch feels cheap, moves sideways under the finger...

New poster questions on Fenix lights/batteries

    Exactly. 2x CR123 = 6V 2x RCR123 = 7.2V or even more...

New poster questions on Fenix lights/batteries

CR123A and RCR123A have different voltage, and different capacity... 3V / 1200-1500 mAh for the CR, 3.6-3.7V / 700-800 mAh for the RCR. Fenix specifies CR123A (not rechargeable) as compatible with the PD35R. The RCRs probably trigger the overload protection circuit.

New poster questions on Fenix lights/batteries

The PD35R and HM50R are both USB rechargeable... Why do you want to swap batteries??? You don't even need to open the battery compartment for years. Edited to add: Also, using 2 CR123 batteries entails risks of fire, explosion, chemical burns on skin, and permanent damage to lungs... This can...

    Nitecore MH12SE, initial review

NITECORE MH12SE - INITIAL REVIEW I recently bought a Nitecore MH12SE. I needed a light with better throw than my EDC for the last 7-8 years, a Fenix UC40UE (exceptional light, I'll post a long-duration review soon). I work outdoors, in the African bush, several months in the year. A flashlight...
