    Surefire Titan Tail Stand

I just received the new prototypes. They work nicely, but they're still not perfect. There's still a very small amount of movement, but it still stands up straight. I'll change it again, but in case you want to get one now, I've made this model public. It's only $3.99 in white or $4.86 in black...

That's actually an excellent idea. It would eliminate the tail cap cutting the nub each time. I'll see how the next prototypes work out and maybe try a two piece stand next time around - a cap and a pin. Status update - all pieces are in production. Hopefully they'll ship as scheduled on March 27.

I just ordered new prototypes - will let you know in a couple weeks or so when they come in.

Nice. I remember using a translucent chapstick cap as a diffuser for one of 47's lights, either the Revo or Preon.

That sounds interesting. If they agree, how about posting a link here to their thread. That would keep this thread less cluttered.

Me, too. I like my machined tailcap, but I think I'd be hesitant to grind it down.

Sounds like a good quick fix. Can you post a photo? It must be getting harder to find film canisters...

I was speaking with customer service. If anyone knows someone in engineering, maybe they'd have better luck.

I would certainly try that. It would be much more expensive, especially for me if I have to go through two or three iterations. It would need to be a conductive material. And I would have to guess at the threads unless someone knows. Surefire wouldn't tell me.

Thanks. I got your PM, but I think it's better I respond here so everyone understands how they can get one. I post my design on Shapeways. After a couple weeks or more, I get my part. Once I'm satisfied with it, I'll make the design public and then everyone who wants one can just go to...

When I'm not carrying mine, it's tail standing. It's a great light and when it's pointing at the ceiling the whole room is nicely lit. I wish I could machine my new Titans, but I'm also a bit addicted to 3D printing, so this is just another opportunity.
