More language barrriers! ISO = metric ANSI = UNC/UNF right? Yes, the clone toolholders I have use M10 setscrews. I don't have experience of quality holders such as Dorian and Aloris, but guess that they use UNC threads as they are made in US. These M10 stainless dog point screws are a straight...

Just reporting back after your helpful comments guys. You were right of course and the 200 series clones are equivalent to BXA size. Here in UK the Dorian new new new SDN30BXA (triple wedge) appears unavailable, and shipping a heavy lump from Rocky at Ajax was way tooo pricey (around $800 for...

    D Lithium rechgeable 3.7v 7500mah-Feeler...

Great to see someone picking up on these - good luck with the GB project! I have been very happy with the 7.5ah D cells I purchased from AGM, but just to say that my cells are flat top and need a contact blob added if used in series. john

Aha! Thanks guys - I'm not that familiar with the AXA, BXA etc codes over here - so it looks like my clone 250 series holders need a BXA series toolpost....... back to the wishing well....

Will Can you say whether the standard clone toolholders (250 series) fit the DTM AXA toolpost? I am thinking about changing my clone toolpost (code 250-200), but have quite a few holders (16mm tools) - will they fit the DTM? If not I might be tempted by Barry's Dorian AXA set! John

Stanley H.I.D. and 1365 lumen spotlights (Part 2)

After much trial and error I believe I have sorted the Stanley replacement battery problem. By driving the light via the 12v charging socket - see pics - I can run a hot 16.4v pack without the PCB cutting in, and also charge the pack safely using my BC6 charger connected via the 12v socket...

Stanley H.I.D. and 1365 lumen spotlights (Part 2)

There's no way that you can use the stock recharging socket on the back of the Stanley if you change the cell type. If using Li cells as a replacement for the SLA, you MUST only recharge the pack by a direct connection. So with that in mind the first thing I did was add a new recharging socket...

Stanley H.I.D. and 1365 lumen spotlights (Part 2)

Just thought I'd add my bit on Stanley's HID. Finally got mine via a pal who was visiting the US, and he brought it back to UK for me (Amazon 70 bucks version). Opened it up rightaway and found that the SLA battery (which is rammed in there) had chaffed the neg out of the ballast down to bare...
