Surefire E2D LED Defender - Faulty.... Anyone else?

Sadly, that looks like the course of action. The words "Unpredictable, Unreliable, Unacceptable" will be used on the returns note. This is the first Surefire that has caused me any problem whatsoever, and sadly, it was the light that I had decided would be my EDC for the foreseeable...

Surefire E2D LED Defender - Faulty.... Anyone else?

New batteries don't help.... Anyway, I would expect the performance to be one of dimmer output, rather than mad flickering, as a result of low voltage. I do believe that the electronics are unwell.

Surefire E2D LED Defender - Faulty.... Anyone else?

I've had a SF E2D LED Defender for about a month now, and like the light output and form factor of the light, but I think mine has developed a fault. For the past couple of weeks, it has occasionally switched from low to high on its own, and more recently, the high beam setting has developed a...

Surefire LX2 Pics, Beamshots & Info

It can get confusing, especially when SF carry out 'stealth upgrades' to lights, either by using newer LEDs, or some other trickery to increase the output. I have just bought an E2D LED Defender, current version (5/200 lumen), and I love this light more than I have any other light for a long...

Ever run into non-CPF'ers using premium lights?

Most of the people I interact with on a daily basis probably don't even own a flashlight. I would tend to be within 5 feet of a decent flashlight all day, unless I was swimming, or in a sauna. There are 3 Surefires within reach, as I write this...

Ever run into non-CPF'ers using premium lights?

There's a common mindset, I think... The desire, and the capability to be prepared for all eventualities.

    Q4 or R5 in the LF2XT Titanium 3rd Run?

I've been away from CPF for a few months, but that statement means nothing to me..

    Pen style flashlight

I have a Streamlight Stylus, and it takes 3 AAAA cells, not 2. I use it in my shirt pocket when I'm doing voluntary EMT duty, and it' about the thickness of a pen, but quite long at 6 1/4 inches long. They're rated water resistant (2 O-rings in the tailcap), and you can even get an EX...

Why do we always reccomend dim lights with long runtime during outage?

I think 'dim' lights with long runtimes always have a place, not just for survivalist worst case scenarios. I used to be die-hard Surefire all the way, because of the high lumen count and quality of construction. I still have 'some' Surefires, including an M6 that I hardly use because of the...

Official? Christmas Gifts 2008 Thank-You Thread

Re: Christmas Gifts Really ARE Here!!! UnOfficial Pic Thread The tailcap is not a click on, click of type, it's in the style of the traditional Surefire tactical lights- you press the button to turn on, let go to turn off. Constant on is by screwing the tailcap down until the light comes on...

Re: Donations Needed for Christmas Gifts VI I like getting into the spirit of this every year, and it's much easier than selling the flashlights :grin2:
