Olight is bulletproof. (they actually shot it in a youtube video). The m20x is a mix of flood and throw and you can get a hunter kit with a remote switch for less than $100. I had one, they are great. Not pure throw though.

also klarus XT11 is super popular for an all round 18650 flashlight.
you might be able to get the fenix tk35 for under $100, its a 2x18650. will increase your runtime and brightness and if size isn't a huge issue, it might be perfect. let us know how u go.
900 ANSI? not sure i believe that. its probably at the source, making it around 650ANSI, really nothing special.
AFAIK, they're all regulated lights. the klarus steps down from turbo to high after a few minutes, but its not becasue the current is lower, its because its programmed to do that...
But these max figures would be with 2x18650s yeah? I expect that with one 18650, even with the MKII model, you wouldn't get much more than 700ANSI lumens on high.
OK are we talking similar price and batteries/size range mags to your flashaholic torches.. or are we compring a Thrunite TN11s to a maglite mini. Apples and oranges guys! apples and oranges.

Guess the price varies a lot per country. Fenix dual AA lights here would be 50-60, AA mags can be picked up for a little over 20.
