Convoy S3. Very compact 18650 light, good quality for the money, can be bought in any brightness you like (1 to almost 3amps on high). It runs a 105c driver that can be set to different groups (need to have a soldering iron tho). Clicky button on the back is nice an recessed so wont turn on by...
Read up a bit on thermal management as well if you want to build a silly bright flashlight that you would be able to use at least twice. All the energy from your circuit that's not being turned into light (and some that is) will be converted to heat and its not too difficult for that heat to...
When i walk through my house at dark while not trying to wake the wife i prefer as little light as i possibly can get. Even my old quark at moonlight is already a bit much at times.
The thought behind less is more (aka 50 will be too much) is that you are 1) working in the dark so your eyes...
I recently bought the 18650 XM-L variety of this light (cheap sipik sk98 clone) and when ordering it also had some replacement bits fly over to get it working @4,5A under semi reliable conditions (your basic tail-resistance, wire-gauge, 7135 stacking and heatsink mods) just because it sounded...
Exploding flashlights is one, but theres also masses of people that nowadays use these in 'vaping' gear and most people i know that actually 'vape' are incredibly stupid so they would totally fall for 5Ah batteries so they can smoke longer.... imagine a little pipe-bomb going off in your face...
So let me see if i can get this right; You have a P60 unit (the module that holds the led light), you have a big a$$ battery pack of questionable voltage (please double check that) and then you have an old flash-light body where wires meet and you somehow ended up with some form of drivers but...
Haha, i laughed! Not only because someone who knows a thing or 3 about batteries actually bought these but even more so because you did actual extensive testing on em! Thank you sir for proving the blatantly obvious!
Im pretty sure there's plenty more modern cars (especially diesels) that will still run fine, especially if they were running at the time of the EMP and have not been turned off yet (just keep em topped up and dont turn em off :twothumbs )
