You can't be into lights and not want an HDS! A rotary is on my radar after all the holiday bills go away....
This light did come from Illumination Gear and I did look at the XM-L but the price on the XP-G R4 was too good to pass up. Man, just like knives there is always something else!
Some how I stumbled onto this forum and of course another addiction.... I've used mini maglites for years and recently bought a cheapo LED conversion kit which I "thought" was pretty darn bright. I need a very compact, bright light for work so the search began. Didn't want to freak the Sweety...
Very true. The LP has 5%, 15%, 40%, 100%. If I were still in the service I'd opt for something with less than a lumen on low but in my current job I need all the light my old eyes can get!
I think the build quality of the Lumapower V3s are top notch and at half the price of the Olight I don't think it would be a bad decision. I like the bottom clicky switch and the fact that it runs on one CR123 or RCR123. I've never held an Olight though so can't elaborate.
The 235 is on a sale for $29.99 online special if someone is interested.

Not sure about all the science but I'm just glad they have made strides since my first "moonbeam" I was issued in the Corps. 5 minute D cells, bad switches and about 1/2 lumen worth of flickering light! We might have beat our enemies with modern lights alone!

No strobe but 4 easy and programmable selects on a clicky.
Lumapower Incendio V3U
From what I can tell, the price is a bit more, the output a little less but the lighting more true. Am I on the right track? I'm waiting on a new light and decided to go with nuetral after doing a test with what little I have. The neutral on my Mag mini conversion and Surefire incandescent...
Thanks. I figure it's a starting point...
The Wife saw me lay out the flashlights I found in my dresser "junk" drawer and they numbered 11. She asked me why the heck I need more. I showed and (tried to reason) that these were old, junkie freebies and wore out Mags. She thinks those free ones...
Thanks for the replies. The light will be used at close range mainly so I'm not too concerned about 1 specific attribute but am now intrigued by these modern lights! The light in question is the Lumapower Incendio V3U with XP-G R4 as compared to the special edition Same light with the XM-L. From...
I am a headend technician for Comcast and frequently have to read very small serial numbers, MAC addresses, etc.. and lately I find my 50 year old eyes needing a lot of light to see these tiny characters! I have been using a Mag mini LED conversion for a year but just ordered an IncenDio V3U...
I just ordered a light with the XP-G R4 and while I thought it might be nice to have the newer XM-L, the price difference was $24 so I held off.....for now. I am upgrading from a Maglite mini with LED conversion that is weak so I don't think I'll be disappointed. I see that I can get an XM-L...
Lumapower Incendio V3U - natural. Besides my Surefire on the AR15 I did not own a decent EDC light and the cheesy Maglite AA LED conversion wasn't cutting it anymore. I needed something small, light and the 1 battery solution seemed nice. Now I sit and wait for delivery...
