Sold/Expired CLOSING AUGUST 8th:Flashlight boring and other machine work by your old pal scott.cr!

Guys! Relax! I'm still working through the stack. I received a LOT more work than I anticipated, so instead of holding people off, I took everyone's work in an attempt to make people happy. So in the end, nobody's happy! Haha. Well, almost. I'm going through everyone's project and...

    The Importance of Good Training

The upside-down/backward magazine is probably strapped to another magazine that has already been correctly inserted into the rifle. The purpose is to keep a spare mag as handy as possible. When the first mag goes empty, you simply flip the whole shebang over and you have a fresh mag ready to...

Sold/Expired WTT: Two new A123 18650s w/ charger for standard SF twisty cap

I have two brand-new A123 18650s from a Black and Decker VPX pack and a standard VPX charger that has not yet been molest, er, modified. Would like to trade for a standard green HA Surefire twisty tailcap for my new-used SF M3!

    300 Yard target shooting spotlight?

Sure... if you put the light 20 feet from the target.

Problem with my SF M6 (Self-discharging batteries)

There's not a whole lot to go wrong with the SF tailcap. You might try removing the head and lamp assembly but leave the battery and tailcap on as you would normally store it. Then probe the battery + terminal and the flashlight chassis to make sure there's no voltage. If there is, that's a...

I have no clue about engines.. can someone help please

My 2007 Audi (yes, 2007, with 24,000 miles on it) had a PCV-related problem similar to the OP's truck. The PCV valve jammed in the closed position... at high throttle angles and/or RPM smoke would pour out the tailpipe and oil blew past the oil filler cap. The PCV valve relieves crankcase...

    Just playin' around

Looks good. I think I also prefer it without the straight knurling.

    Focusing Shims?

Go to mcmaster.com and search for "shim ring" without quotes. (I'd give you a direct link but can't figure out how from that site.) They come in all kinds of sizes, IDs and ODs.

Anybody been to the San Diego Wild Animal Park?

Hi guys, debating whether or not to take the wifey there tomorrow (Saturday). I see on their Web site that there are a lot of optional tours for $35 and up. Looking for trip reports, recommendations, or whatever!! Oh, and flashlight carry recommendations. ;-)

    Question on a Surefire tailcap

The tailcap from my L1 is a mid-size... too large for E series, too small for P series. DaFABRICATA is correct as far as the P series being the same size as the C, D, M and Z series.

    Exciting things for Fall.

Heroes!! Other than that, the most exciting thing about fall for me is that it helps lead to next spring.

Ebay/Hong Kong Pressure Switch - Warning

Hah... do you think it's more likely that the Red Army uses this, or more likely the dealer is a typical FleaBay scumbag vendor? (e.g. liar liar pants on fire hanging off a telephone wire!)

Best B&M flashlight shop in LA area?

I've had consistently reasonable results at any Sport Chalet store. There's also the Bass Pro in Riverside (off the 15 freeway between the 60 and 210). It's about an hour drive from L.A. proper but worth the trip if you have a Saturday or a Sunday to burn window shopping.

Re: Automotive Valve Seats Some exhaust valve seats are made of Stellite, a proprietary alloy with about 10% tungsten content according to the link. Judging by the hardness it looks difficult to machine. Probably makes a good bezel front if the machinist has access to grinding equipment, or...

    Question about bank/credit accounts

All, thanks for the responses, especially BB for taking the time to make a rather lengthy post! I guess it won't kill me to put a gallon of gasoline in the tank on my two Chase cards. ;-) On the other hand, it is still sort of a pain in the butt because after I pay off the balance there will be...
