"nickel plated neodymium disc magnet"
What's the conductivity of nickel? Answer: 14.6 x 106 S m-1
The only neodymiums I've seen have been coated, as the metal is fragile and oxidizes.
I'm happy with the HF AA. There's a little voltage variance among them, but I only use them in a single AA pager.
Another source I've been thinking about is Lowe's. They have Utilitech 48-Pack AA for $6.
Feedback about them is in this thread...
Q: Did your H600w come with a headband and a belt clip, or just a headband?
Mine only came with a headband+holder.
This pic of an (old) H60 shows that model also came with a belt clip:

Edit: Item description says it only comes with the headband...
It was a rough weekend. Power went out just after midnight Thursday.
Thursday morning, before sun-up, I had to dig my car out of the driveway in order to get to work. Power was out for about a mile to the west, and out to the horizon to the east and north.
Got to work and shortly afterward my...
Now, after at least three crash-tests resulted in fires or sparks from the vehicle's lithium-ion battery pack, GM is working to reassure consumers the Volt is safe and avoid a potentially embarrassing gaffe just as its turnaround is taking hold.
On Monday, the Detroit auto maker took the...
It's the first LED flashlight I've owned that, when shined at my cheek, gets my cheek uncomfortably warm. My Wolf-Eyes Pilot Whale emits warmth, but not as much as this beam.
If you really want a floor-standing lamp that will light up your place like the noon sun then buy one of these:

The 68W halide bulb will last years (provided you turn it on and leave it on for awhile). I seem to remember the lumen output is in the 6000 range.
It's fun...
I was Googling around, looking for how long my newly-bought 40W A19 LED bulb would last, and came across a picture of a CFL with the type of failure you talk about above (hole burned in glass next to base).

Figured I'd post it here. I'd post the...
What about the House of Batteries 4-pk for $6.79 (+1.99shipping) at Fry's?

I don't find anything online about capacity.
Around our area spiders come out at night and weave their webs at face height, until they get their webs taken down several times and climb higher into the trees.
I use a 1000-lumen Wolf Eyes Pilot Whale at a 75 degree angle, held from the waist pointing skyward, to spot the webs before I nail...
Earlier this summer I went on a 3-night trip for training and I put my Zebralight h60w (w/tailcap unscrewed) in my luggage for the heck of it. The room was so dark at night I couldn't see my way to the toilet even after I'd slept so my eyes were adjusted to the dark.
I put the light on the...
I bought an H60w several months ago and found it made such a great clip-on-the-belt light that I ended up buying another H60w as a headlamp. It was too much of a pain to switch the mounts out every time I wanted to go from headlamp to clip-on.
Currently the clip-on gets daily use; the headlamp...
