Olight S1R II Ti/Cu - They really knocked it out of the ballpark with this quintet!

The Winter edition is nice, but the warm is VERY orange, just FYI. The clip is also somewhat of a pain to keep bent away while unscrewing the battery compartment. Not that big a deal since the light has onboard charging, but something of a design oversight.

ReyLight: 18350/18650 Titanium Flashlight Host, with 10 trits slots.

Are these still available? Found a listing on another forum, but didn’t want to get the 5 post minimum in order to reply there!

    Show your beat up light.

The Mr Gurds was the knife I carried all through Scouts, and was plenty well used. Still have it around here, somewhere...

Emitter swap on Emisar D1s gone wrong, stuck at dead end. Pls help

Check: The length of the leads. Is there any exposed wire touching the edge of the PCB? Is the solder on the PCB bridging anywhere outside the pads?

My ongoing Niteye Eye10 TiC Emitter Swap

Thanks for moving! I reflowed a Nichia 219c 80 CRI 5000k to the board. Board’s a bit chewed up and toasted from the lighter I used, but it’s better than re-filing one! Anything to avoid re-soldering leads the inside of a dual-layer board that doesn’t pull apart. Cut down a 3M heat...

My ongoing Niteye Eye10 TiC Emitter Swap

I’ve had an Eye10 TiC that’s seen heavy edc since release. Recently, I decided an updated emitter was worth the risk, using the guide posted in this very forum. Nichia 319AT: The LED star had to be filed down significantly to fit. I did it with a Leatherman Squirt file. Having frayed the...

    Sunwayman V10A / V10R control ring anatomy

The RRT-0/TCR-1 really was the superior light to the Sunwayman Ti. I lost mine, and never was able to find a replacement. The RRT-1 is great as well, still going strong. The Sunwayman is nice, but the shoddy factory clip and no easy replacement was a bummer, and F&F/general usability of the...

What happened to Titanium Control Ring lights?

There seem to be no new offerings in the Ti flashlight category since 2015. Is this due to SureFire’s patent lawsuit?

    RIP Lighthound.

I loved that web store. Not just for flashlights, but for the gizmos and tinkering/hobby electronics supplies buried deep in a catologue somewhere else. Where am I going to find glow o-rings and neat little battery cases now?

Okay to put "75 watt-equivalent" bulbs in 60 watt-rated socket?

Why use incans? There are 50 watt equivalent LED bulbs that put out more light on an 8 watt draw. I'm sure you could find brighter online!

If it existed, which would you choose: fully customizable UI or preset UI?

I have to agree with Joe Talmadge, but I'll take it a step further: Control ring flashlights make programmable UIs superfluous.

SWM V10R Ti+ control ring question

Silicone plumbers grease works well, and adds a nice feel to the ring movement. While you have the head disassembled, Lighthound sells some small glow o-rings that fit around the emitter...

List the BEST/WORST flashlight purchases you have made.

Best: Niteye Eye 10-TiC Jetbeam TCR-1 Ti Fenix P2D Worst: 4Sevens Preon Clicky. Went through multiple copies of the light, including Ti versions. The Clicky switches always ended up malfunctioning, and the heads began switching modes erratically, even with the switch removed (twisty). This...
