Crap! Mine slipped out of my hand and dropped on a granite staircase, now it's unresponsive. Any way to open it up to see if there's a broken connection somewhere? I have a multimeter and do know how to solder...

Again, prefer to wait for the perfect light rather than get a rush job. Besides, summer is well on its way here in Finland, so I won't really be needing lights again till August... ;D
I've found schematics for the inductor version, but could someone post schematics for the capacitor version? Again, I'm a n00b and the easiest way for me to figure this out is to start with something that works and then try changing parameters to see what happens.

AAAs are 1.5 volts, and most LEDs I've encountered seem to need at least 2.2V. Are there lower V LEDs or a mechanism to increase the voltage that I just haven't learned yet?
