    Luminus?

i just bought a new Fenix H70R and noticed the spot is a Luminus LED. Never heard of them before. (Yes, I’ve fallen off the wagon and purchased another unneeded light. I’ve been a CPF member since 2005 and don‘t visit very often anymore. I thought I had the flashaholic thing under control...

Anyone remember the PALight, and know where to get something like it?

Here’s the thread: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?395352-Safe-Light-PALights-may-be-gone-for-good "Notice: November 2014 - It is with much sadness that we recently learned that our dear friend and long time supplier of the PALights, James Meyer, has passed away. It is...

Anyone remember the PALight, and know where to get something like it?

I had a couple of these. Good lights, although the contacts corroded on several. I still have one on my bedroom dresser, glowing nicely. That said, I remember wanting to purchase replacements several years back and reading here(?) that the PalLignt owner had died and they were out of...

Fenix HM61R ticking all the boxes?

Well fellow Flashaholics, between a serious case of Covid induced cabin fever and the evil designers at Fenix, I've fallen off the wagon and purchased another flashlight. In this case, the Fenix 61R. Dang. It's been at least a year since I last bought a flashlight (a Fenix 50R) and the...

Go To Four Slot Charger for 2019

I ended up pulling the trigger on the SkyRC. Its R’s a very impressive charger. The initial learning curve was steep but not tall. Once you figure out the basic function maneuvers, it’s easy to set up your battery programs and run with it. Assuming the charger lasts, I can’t imagine why...

Go To Four Slot Charger for 2019

Thanks for the feedback so far. All the new charger recommendations are good but each seem to be missing one little thing or another. I feel myself slipping off the wagon and pulling the trigger on the SkyRC. And I thought I was over this little flashlight problem. I’m feeling the...

Go To Four Slot Charger for 2019

As a reformed flashaholic, I’ve been away for a while and am curious to know what the consensus is for the best all around 4 slot charger these days. My MaHa C9000 died several years ago and I replaced it with a NiteCore I4: a bit too simple. I bought a Itar V4: ok but I didn’t really care for...

Battery Soapbox - I'm Sold on Eneloops

I can't fault Eneloops for that; at those temperatures my internal batteries don't last as long as they once did either! Brrrrrr! Here's to a hot cocoa for you, Erasmus!

Battery Soapbox - I'm Sold on Eneloops

Though a casual user by CPF standards, I'm a longtime rechargeable fan and I'm sold on Eneloops as the best rechargeables ever. I had a very pleasant finding this weekend and wanted to share it with the forum. Saturday, I decided to refresh/ analyze some Eneloop AAA's and AA's I've had since...

    T4 T5 Fluorescent Fixtures

You likely won't. T4's and T5's are very popular in Europe but seemingly slow to catch on in the US. They are very energy efficient, obviously compact and a great lighting solution.

    T4 T5 Fluorescent Fixtures

The difference is the diameter of the tube (in eighths of an inch): A T4 is 4/8's inches (1/2") in diameter. A T 5 is 5/8" in diameter.

    Rebel EOS/EOS II review.

Re: Rebel EOS/EOS II review Has anyone compared the EOS II with a mod'ed SSC P4 EOS? If so, I'd be very curious to know how the beam shots compare. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=162784 (I've gotten a solid year and a half out of this mod but all good things in the...

Rear flashers for My Bike Light Project

Mkrabach, Did you consider using DX sku 3393 or 13613 for your prototypes? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3393 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13613 I'm assuming the 13613 could be mounted directly to the heatsink in the Vista with some Arctic epoxy and it would be...

Rear flashers for My Bike Light Project

Mkrabach, Very impressive. I had an old Vistalite die the other day and this looks like just the project to bring it back from the dead. If this thing is as bright as it looks, I wouldn't want to ride behind you! A couple of questions: What kind of runtime are you getting off of your...
