    What's going on. I thought the XP-L was supposed to mbe the brightest Cree has at this point. Their website is claiming 220 LPW and max output of 1226 lm @ 10 W. I had high hopes for this die, but this is discouraging.

    no, you would need much more amperage to do anything with an sst-90 compared to an mce or p7. even if you could get some imr cells in there and buck them the flashlight body wouldn't be able to handle the heat.

    I would wait for the quark g500, it is going to be beastly. Its going to be about 460 bulb lumens from and xp-g led so it should throw as far or farther than most xp-e, or xr-e leds with almost twice as many lumens. its going to be amazing.
