DQG xp-g2 R51A mini AAA light

Yeah I'm pretty satisfied with the AAA clicky on eneloops. That Yezl on eneloop is to my untrained eye less bright than the DQG. I only got it because the advertising blurb on the site I bought it from claimed that it did NOT have strobe mode and I like the stronger and central keychain...

DQG xp-g2 R51A mini AAA light

Yeah I got a a couple of clips too. I find the AAA clicky a little too fat for the clip to grip properly so I added a drop of epoxy to make it really secure. No problems if I have to remove it as a little heat will melt the epoxy without damaging the stainless steel finish. This torch now...

DQG xp-g2 R51A mini AAA light

Nope! Dare not try a 10440. Only been using Eneloops. Thought it was not rated for 10440? I love it too much to fry it :)

DQG xp-g2 R51A mini AAA light

Tks Ven. I think I got it figured out now. My switch must be just a little on the sensitive side. If I click it with a measured press of the thumb ie. press ->click ->pause for a microsecond -> release, then it comes on in low. If I just mash down on the button till it clicks and release...

DQG xp-g2 R51A mini AAA light

My AAA clicky just arrived from Banggood. Just a few points to note after playing with it for half an hour. The click button is too soft and rattles when I shake the light. It doesn't always start on low as stated. It arrived wrapped in bubblewrap and stuck in a plain envelope together with 5...

DQG xp-g2 R51A mini AAA light

Thanks for the comparison. 1. Same size as the I3s 2. 3 modes w/o strobe 3. Clicky 4. Comes in stainless 5. Brighter than the I3s 6. Always starts in LOW That's it! I'm grabbing me a couple. Ticks all the right boxes for me.

    DQG SPY ?

Two is one and one is none right? Seriously though....since this will reside on my keychain and see only occasional use I don't think I wanna spend so much $$ getting both. And since the Spy seems to be out-of-stock at most places, I think the decision has been made for me. :grin2:

    DQG SPY ?

Nice photos! I'm still undecided between the DQG Spy and the Quantum D2. If I get the Spy I gotta factor in the cost of the spacer/case and/or a charger from cottonpicker. If I go with the D2, then I'll have to contend with the QTC which may deteriorate over time - gotta buy spares. 6 of one...

    Reading the Headlamp Reviews

I've just weighed my BD Storm at 112g or a smidgin over 3.9oz fully loaded with 4 Energizer AAA batteries including headband. Should be lower with lithium AAAs.

Poll: Thrunite Neutron owners, does your light have a wobbly head?

Got a 1C with zero wobbles. Love it!!!

    New headlamp UI

Your example re lighting levels today and tomorrow may be a little extreme :) Most of the time I find myself turning my headlamp on for only a few minutes to look for something around camp or to check out the trail if I'm walking. Once I'm done, the light goes off. Then maybe 5-15 minutes later...

    New headlamp UI

Agree 100% with the previous poster. Infinite ramping starting from low to high and back with a blink pause in between. Preferably ramping done by a press and hold. Mode memory and if possible, light level memory so it comes back on in the same mode and at the same level as when it was switched...

Looking for a new light, what are the MUST HAVE features/functions?

I'd say look at the User Interface (UI) first as this is the one thing that will bug you everytime you use the light. I'm still new at this game and have only 10 lights to date but I find myself getting irritated with those lights where I have to click/twist thru many modes just to get where I...

Black Diamond Storm - review => Waterproof 100 lumens

Thanks for a great review. How easy is it to get into the dimming mode and is mode memory available? My personal pet peeve are headlamps that start with a blast at max before dimming down with frantic switch presses - had enough complains from camp mates who have received a blinding flash when I...
