I just purchased a XT11GT from Amazon and with it received a 18650 3100 mah battery rather than 3600 mah. I inquired to Klarus and received this response from Sarah. "Regarding battery, the battery we provided for upgraded XT11GT which is 18650-3100.
3100 IMR battery is better than 3600.
Which could drive flashlight to high quicker and stable, bring less heats"
Is this true ?
I think she meant the LED for the first version of the Klarus XT11GT, the XHP35 HI, was driving the flashlight too much, thus making it too hot, and not the battery itself, that was causing the problem.
However, they substitute the 3600mah battery for the 3100mah either as a cost-saving alternative, or they are indeed worried that the 3600mah batteries could drive the second version of the light harder similar to the first version, which is highly unlikely in my opinion.
The LED of the second version of the Klarus XT11GT, the XHP35 HD, is much better, in my opinion, as although it does not have the long throw of the first version, it have a larger spill which suits my purpose. Hope that helps.
