I've not had a chance to do some proper comparisons yet, but this head looks like it's throwing 2-3 times further than anything else I've got

Only lights up half the garden from the house as it's so concentrated, but I swear I can smell the fence burning from the hotspot, then it seems to be reaching the trees on the far side of the field behind my house - I've been pleased to light the trees half way down before (running a 1164 @9.6v).

Rather more subtle and pocketable on my 2D than the 3" too, which I like.

These are really beautiful for anyone thinking of using any of the USL, Mac, MadMaxaBeam Torches. Any of those Osram bulbs just come out beautifully with these heads. That's why I put my money where my mouth is and bought 5 of them.

I have mainly compared it on the various Osram Torch type lights, and it is excellent at giving a nice hotspot, and reduced artifact. This actually makes the 64623 give a nice beam pattern & hotspot. So far, I prefer it in that bulb setup.

It has a 1/2" bulb bore, so not sure yet how it compares to 3" when smaller WA bulbs are used.
