And some people actually post that you can't count on a flashlight to incapacitate a criminal...

Well, that explains the freak "lightening storm" last night here in Toronto. Mac was playing with the Monster Torch! 10,000 lumens huh?

Mac....the Man.....always pushing the boundaries! :goodjob:

Beautiful, beautiful light.....with the output to match!

The lamp is fairly intolerant of overdrive. It's a 24 volt lamp, like the 62138 is a 12 volt lamp.

PhotoFest members saw this lamp several meetings ago, driven by 20 1/2D NiMH cells, and placed in a 6" reflector. My kids call it the "Stadium Light"!

I have run it in a 3" reflector in one of the "Mule" prototypes, but as Mac says, it gets incredibly hot, incredibly fast which is why I like the 6 incher!

Beautiful work, Mac!!!

awesome, just awesome.
See this is the type of torch that when describing it to your un-flashaholic freinds you have to guage the light in terms of how long it takes to ignite paper.

I saw Leef's "the Torch" last september at our dfw cpf get together then, and was impressed.

But.... WOW!
This newer version looks like it really kicks butt.
One could light a campfire with this one even quicker. :naughty:

Might be kind of interesting to find a material to make the the body and battery tube out of, that does not conduct heat quite so quickly.
Something to safeguard the battery pack and user's hand.

But nonetheless, extremely impressive in it's current form.

The Eagle has Landed...

What a great box to open up coming back from SHOT!

I'm in no position to speak for Mac, but I'd have serious doubts that this kind of Monster is going to be a production thing. It took a lot of convincing to have Mac take mercy on me and make such a fantastic (excessive) light.

Hang tight guys, I WILL post some beamshots eventually, but it will be at least a couple weeks since I am heading out of town soon. I have a couple Torches, so it should be a good set of shots.

Thanks, Mac, this is a breath-takingly beautiful light, and I absolutely LOVE it!!
