I'll take a plain tailcap. This functionality has tremendous potential.

Best,
Linger

**If there mistakes on the grooves or whathave-you, I'd love the whole fluting to be just ground off and a basically un-stylized (but with adjustable tail-spring) cap would be wunderbar**

I've talked to my machinist and he is unable to commit to a specific date as of yet due to work load. In addition I have a full plate through Oct 17th at least. So it looks like fabrication is being pushed out to the 2nd half of Oct.

UPDATE

In spite of my machinist's crazy work load he was kind enough to shoe horn me in on Sat, Nov 13th to cut metal on the tail cap prototype. The first couple will be made from aluminum just so I can get a good feel for the design functionality. After that he will have a much better idea of the time needed to throw 40 or 50 and will be able to schedule the actual run.
I'll post plenty of pics once I get the prototype in my hot little hands. :grin2:

Thank you for your continued patience

Now that CPF is finally back on line I see this thread has sustained a serious set back. I was hoping for a better result, but I'm sure Greta, Tandem and others did the best they could with what they had. For me the take away from all of this is in some way back up, record or save the stuff that is important to you as it is impossible for anyone to guaranty this won't happen again. On a more possitive note, I was impressed and very appreciative to see members with the expertise step up and help out when and where they could. Without the diligence and persistence all of these folks put forth I couldn't be posting this message now.

As for this thread, I at least have an up to date hard copy of the order list, but the rest is a do-over. I don't know when I will get time to revise the intro page, but I do still have caps in stock and available. Feel free to post when you can. :)

I also have the adapters made so that they will fit Fivemega ELE II as seen below:

I did not think to check if my posts with pictures were deleted as well. All the tail caps I received were brushed stainless.

Look how well the tail cap lines up with the body.

I like the conical transition. Was it an extra from a previous run or a one off custom?

The conical transition, which I called it a "slope" has to be there to -in effect- enlarge the diameter of the tail cap to fit a larger diameter of the ELE II.
We decided not to do the flat out but 45 and 30 degree. That is why the one in the second picture is shorter than the one in the last picture. We also added knurls for better grip. Below is another style:
