Nice work , how much head and canister weight ?

The weight of the complete light "ready to dive" as shown on the first picture of this discussion (canister with its "STA" and belt, battery, head with its "goodman" grip) is 2,680kg

You could avoid ball plunger and power connector by twisting cables with turns in opposite direction ( in that case you need space in back )

I had tried the twist on an old project based on a maglite modded to halogen dichroic + canister. After 2-3 mounting/unmounting the wire had failed.
As you explain : I hadn't let enought space back to twist safely the wire. But there, i had no solution to increase the space back. So i made this 3 turning contacts.

For this last project, i keep the same solution which, i agree, is more complicated than twist.
