New to CPF and very interested in this piece. How would I contact you for arrangements for purchase should you wish to do so?
Sincerely, David

Large quote delete.

David it is not necessary to quote the original post in your post as other posters seem to have done in this thread.
You only need to quote as much of the original as is necessary to understand the your reply.
Your post is quite clear without the quote. Other members please take note this isn't directed specifically at David.

hello everyone

seems that some of my pics have gone astray and my subscription to this thread came undone, sorry for not checking back sooner

Bloodfeather... my email is burginjason(at)hotmail.com if you want to contact me or send me a p/m

Got lumens... I use a pyrometer for exact temp readings
the best method is to heat the forge to above critical temp
then soak the blade in the forge until the pyrometer comes down to the exact temp
(which varies for each type of steel combo)but its around 885celcius for some of my billets with 15n20 and 1085
the blade will be fully soaked and evenly heated
at this point it is quenched in veg oil
then edge tested and repeated up to 3 times total (triple quench)

this is no big secret, but it is the best way to get optimum performance from your steel
theres so much tech involved in proper treatment such as grain size and carbon migration, carbide structure
best look it up,start with metallurgy, heat treatment

Rando ...thanks

If you order from Jason, make sure he insures the package. I never got my 250$ Mokume/mini damascus knife.

thought I would add that I will make another one for Ferrite
despite being out of my hands once a package is sent
but I will not post to AFPO again unless insured
this has been the first time I've ever seen a posted item not arrive
and I hope it may still show up

Wow. That's a pretty great knife collection. Where did you acquire them?
