does this socket come with a bulb? I still don't understand. I've been looking through other links you left like lithos. So if you buy the "socket" from your site does it come with the bult too? or do you have to buy the "bulb" separate from another person like litho? If you get the 1185 bulb from litho, does it come with everything you need? or will i still need this bi pin socket? sorry I am very new to this and still don't understand the parts/ terms

What you get here in this thread is socket with installed springs, allen wrench and shims.
NO BULB, NO FLASHLIGHT, NO HEAD, NO BATTERIES and NO CHARGER included or offered here.

Yes, you need to obtain your bulb from elsewhere.

WA1185 is just a bi pin bulb and doesn't come with anything else. Combination of a bulb and this socket makes lamp assembly and the concept is to have a seperatable bulb from socket. This will give you oppurtunity to use any other voltage and wattage of bulb to use with your set up whether you use primary cells, 2 li-ion or 3 li ion cells. In addition, cost of replacing burnt out lamp is much less than buying whole lamp assembly from elsewhere for $25~$35 each.

got it! thanks! luvcpf One last question though. "Overtightening will cause pinching bulb pin, stock in there and void warranty" Do you mean void the warranty of the "flashlight" itself, or is there a warranty for this product (the bi pin socket itself)? What do you mean by "stock" in there? Please forgive my noobness, much appreciated! :) How much does one of these sockets last? I am just wondering so I know how much i should order :) thanks

P.S. sorry, this was more than one question

Hi junmae,

The Bi Pin bulbs have 2 legs (pins) that you slide into the Bi Pin holder. The Bi Pin holder has a small hex screw that you lightly tighten against one of the bulbs pins to hold it in place. I believe FM meant if you over-tighten the Allen screw the bulb could become stuck in the socket.

Cheers,
Steve
