The home depot near me (San Mateo, CA, USA) has put the VPX battery packs on clearance. Price isn't great though, $20 each.

My local Wally World has them at regular price for $19.88. I actually quite like the standard VPX form factor; wouldn't mind designing a light around this battery pack sometime.
