Hi, I have one of these lights. It works fine, but has a weak output. I want to modify it with a better diode. I can to find anything on Google. Has it been done before? Any tips for a diode with lots of output? Would I need anything other than a diode to get started?

Update: I've opened it. It has a diode with a 20mm heatsink. Voltage across diode when on is 3.4V. Should be trivial to replace the diode? What diode would be best? It is going to be used as a work light. I want maximum light over an as big as possible area. It does not need to throw light over great distances.
