Can a "LED Driver" be used to regulate voltage to other electronics such as an amp?

Hi, I plan to use a PAM8406 audio amplifier with a 6V power supply (4xAA batteries), however I'm being told that I cannot exceed 5.5V of input power or I risk damaging the amp. Can I use a standalone 5V LED Driver like this one to limit my input voltage to 5V, or is there a better or proper method?

I'd just use a 5v regulator. Cheaper than a driver.
