Hi,
I just bought a Magic Fire 65W HID. I will use it for film work. For that reason I will have to make the color temperature about 1,000 K warmer. Any ideas on how to best achieve this? Are there any color glass filters out there that could fit this light, and stand the heat? The lamp holder diameter is 70 mm (27.5''). Any suggestions welcome. Does not need to be an elegant solution.
Thanks,
Johannes

Grab a pack of film gels and see which one works. This will cut your output somewhat and might cause some funny tints.

I have two HIDs around 5000k. I talked to BHPhoto and they recommended trying:
ROSCOE Cinegel #3408 Filter or 3409

I ordered both today to try.

Got my filters in from BHPhoto.

The Rosco 3408 is too warm in my opinion. The Rosco 3409 is more like 4300k. Does a nice job warming up my Ebay 75W HID which seems to be around the 5500k range.
