Yes, the new lathe is very nice indeed, and I feel it cuts better and smoother (with the same exact tooling/bits) than my 8x machine. I still think it is a keeper (even if only for the next 18 months :devil

Ok, I finally took some pictures of the Mags Will made for me. The first in the pic below is a 1C for a AW C cell, the next is a 1.25D P7 that was built by Will w/ a D2FLex controller that he made Delrin sleeves to hold either a AW C cell or one 18650 cell and the last is a 1.5D that Will bored to use with either a 4xAA holder or a 4x14670 holder. All the work was outstanding and these were made on his old lathe. If you want to see the complete P7 build, search for threads started by Will. It goes into much more detail and has a lot of pictures.

Will, I would like my host (in the mail) built the same as the shortie Mag. Bored and could you open up the tailcap so that the spring seats at the bottom. Would 4 x 14670's still fit into the shortie?

So far, I have "recorded" the following (please correct me as appropriate):
1) cheetokhan (TX) - Jade Green

2) 3rdrock - Teal (Jade Green), Digital Camo, Dark Green, and Silver - all cut to 5 9/16", and spring counter sunk 1/2" into the tailcap

3) nailbender - one Digital Camo, Regular Camo, Red, Pewter, and Teal.


Placing the order tomorrow night (Friday). Anyone else?

Hi Will, do you by any chance make 1xC mags as well? I know that's a totally different story - new measurement on length, threads, etc. Just if you're making 1xC, I'll be interested in a pewter and a purple.

I just got a purple 2C maglite with the intention of modding it with a P7. Unfortunately, the purple ones are the older design with a wider tube and the P7 heatsinks I bought don't fit.
Just something to keep in mind.

I do still want a Jade Green, I just can't make up my mind how long to cut it. I'm waffling between running a KD 1D Lithium Ion, or a 18650 cell. I like the extra capacity of the KD 1D, but I already have a bunch of 18650 cells and charger.

Yes, I have done many 1xC's as well. I will order for you a Pewter and Purple C as well
