I believe this to be Dave's first post...all the way back to 2005! As we can all readily see, it was as thorough and well-thought as his work continues to be until this very day. So many of us are of the Walter Mitty persuasion---merely dreaming and watching the clouds of thought pass by. Dave, the consumate inventor, by contrast, has brought his dreams to terra firma---reality--and in doing so, has enLIGHTENED our lives and kept us all on the edge for the next Data presentation. Damn, what a ride it has been so far! I can only hope I will continue to be there for the next "how the devil did he think of, let alone CREATE that?" continuing series of innovative "lights".
Thanks Dave for tours of your original workshop ("Bonnie will kill me if I don't build her a movie theater right here"!), the treehouse ("thank goodness Bonnie told me Brazilian Rosewood was a poor choice for window trim framing"), the recent (and past) bonfires ("gee Dave, isn't there a an open fire ban in effect" said Karl?) to the "Cave" (aka "Casino in the Woods"), your new "workshop and birthplace of the latest Tri-V and the 007 Sapphire---works of art which share the distinction of being functional as well---similar to a Rolls being a "car".
Thanks most of all for being a friend, the key player in this ragtag "flashlight" team. Never to forget and thanks as well to Bonnie, your devoted wife who has granted you leeway in this path---"there's a woman behind every great man". Thanks Dave!
Karl
(P.S. Please send the complimentary Tri-V version 3 AND the 007 Sapphire Ultra to my home address.) Thanks!
