Wow, just saw this. It will be interesting to see what becomes available.

Don, what eventually happened with the solar setup?

I liked the garage sales back when there was less competition haha. This should be a fun one, I look forward to seeing what surfaces.

Paulr,
The solar system is installed and for most of this year, I have been generating electricity in excess of my usage. The plan is someday to have an EV that dips into the present surplus.

As lavalight has suggested, I have put this off "island style" and even now, I find myself wanting to design and proto a new idea that may have little merit instead of taking the time to open the drawers and catalog the ideas of yesterday and yesteryear and offer them up for new and needed "seed" money.

The time has come for me to get it together. The longer I wait, the less I will know about what it is that I am offering! :green:

I have started the process for the first auction which will be limited to some ti lights. There are two threads now but both locked until I can finish them. Depending on how well this auction goes and energy level and tide and other things, I also want to have a second auction based on some of my lights in aluminum as well as lights made or built by others. I do have some components I could offer up as well but these auctions are really a drain on time and energy!! :green: I am not complaining as much as simply sniveling. :duck:

I will not post an ending time and the reason here is to keep some of the games typical of auctions from bogging down the forum or putting undue pressure or stress on any of you. I realize this will not be appreciated by some members but hopefully others will prefer this approach. Regardless, that's the way it will be played out.
Good call Don, I agree with you here. Here's my fingers crossed that I'll be able to afford one of those beauties. That LunaSol proto sure is appealing.

Don, will the aluminum thread start this week also?

No.

I really have a lot of lights (I think it's a lot) that are just sitting in drawers and not being used or evaluated anymore. Included in these are some unique and special lights that were gifts, trades and what have you. Candidly, the thought of my wife or step son getting stuck with what to do with these some distant (I hope distant!) day bothers me as does sitting on them when I know I would be better off letting them go to new homes where they would be appreciated and hopefully used. It will take some time to get this next auction together and I also want to get approval or perceptions from some involved parties before I offer some of these up, if I do offer them up.

Wow, the amount of awesome in the auction thread has my head spinning! Completely out of my league, but so are the $100 tables at the casino. Still, fun to watch the action!

I got a few bids in early, knowing they wouldn't last. Well at least I got to bid with "wishful thoughts"! :sigh:
