Hello everyone,
It seems clear that this little light needs a good clip and that you guys will buy them.
Give me a week to get a couple prototypes done up and I will present them for comments/suggestions before we go forward with production.

I am considering getting most of these done in black if no one objects.

If you guys have any input on the design, now is the time to speak up.

+1  just waiting to  and to taste some of the:popcorn:

Having some experience with tripods, camera mounts, and such, I was thinking that the best screw would have to be the same diameter of the light and thus would add a couple mm to the overall length, and the light would tailstand on the screw. However I'm willing to try anything for this light. If a countersinked design will work that sounds great. My Fenix clip is getting a little old, but it has convinced me this light needs a good clip.

I had the same thoughts.

I have searched on and off for the past week for a suitable screw.
The only one that looks promising at all is one sold for a steadicam. $5 a piece.
And I have no idea of the actual dimensions yet.

IMO this is too expensive anyway.

A custom screw would add too much cost.

The countersunk screw design is done and I am not happy with it.

The design would require a washer between the clip and light and available washers do not fit correctly.

Also, the head of the screw is large enough to cause concern of the durability of the remaining material of the clip.

The only way this style would be done is with a buttonhead screw, and washer, and the light would no longer tailstand.:faint:

I am at the point where I have spent a lot of time on this clip and must make a choice.

I will build a clip that is similar to the D10 clip if you guys want them.
I see no other way to offer a quality clip for a reasonable price.

Since the manufacturer refuses to make this style, I will consider it.

If a member that is affiliated with Nitecore has a problem with this, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for looking in to the counter sunk screw idea, it's a shame that it wouldn't work but a D10 style clip would be just as good, and would still allow for easy tripod use.

I'm sure anything you can come up with will be more secure than the L0D clip on style that has been mentioned

Look forward to seeing some pics

This is still alive.

I have several different clips for different lights that I am finishing up, and will get all them produced at the same time.
All I can say is "as soon as I can" I will have something.

How about using the D10 clip? Just needs some bending of the clip an then split the threaded plate into two pieces to make it fit.

We got 100 votes for a clip now. Isn't that enough? :banghead:

IMHO, this will make it a much more useful light.

I know, I know, it's a Keychain light but in my opininion, It's too big to be a keychain light.

4Sevens has already stated Nitecore is going to make the clips... some months ago. And they have been asking them about it. So far, no news yet. Perhaps they were busy with EZ series and D10 SP.

1 more vote for EZ AA clip, will be awesome if the entire EZ series have a clip option. The D10 style clip is expected.

Has my vote as well.. I'd gladly be in for one by Moddoo.. (his titanium tailcap for the Surefire Eseries is SUPER sexy.. love it!)

I'm not at all concerned about tailstanding. When I'm using the light, I'm holding it. Attaching it to the rear tripod screw gives the lowest pocket ride, and that's my real concern.

I'm in for at least (3) clips, however it cannot sacrifice the tailstanding capabilities. Just make a proper sized EX10/D10 clip and be done with it. Shouldn't be rocket science.

Hello Guys

I am now working on some clips for KUKU427.

When I make the clips for him, I will make some for the EZAA also.

These should be ready sometime in April.

Thanks

I'll buy one.

I would be happy to make clips for these if there is enough interest.

It would attach with a screw in the tail threads.

I hope I am not stepping on anyones toes.
AFAIK, no one has offered to make them yet.

Get interest for 40+ and I'm all over it.

The EZ AA is the best as an AA keychain light IMO. If I was going to carry an AA light in my pocket with a clip I would want it to be screwed into the tripod mount. If the clip is like the one on the aaa arc it won't stay on for long.:)
