greenlight, sorry dude! If I pick up some more of these lights I might put another couple together. I have 3 S027XA's left, and hmmmm 7 lenses left so, yeah, I might do a few more.

Isn't the amber 140 lumens? I like R/O but I wonder what amber looks like. I never really payed much attention but it might be a soothing color. Hmmm. Amber isn't quite as sensitive to heat as R/O/Red is too. And it's not much lumens difference, meaning it still has over 100 lumens!

I received the light, 8 new AA batts, pouch, and extra mineral glass lens in the mail. Wow, this is one extremely bright LED light! Thank you.

DaGunn, if you try out NiMH let us know what happens! Oh and becareful not to over-discharge them as the r/o will pull current way past the batteries discharge voltage..

Wow... I can't believe I missed this... I was literally coming here to get some info on having a R/O Lux III put in one of my Costcos. If your next batch is selling for $35 each (with only one lens), I'l go ahead and send payment now if you'd like and you can just send the light whenever you get around to it.

I thought I'd post a pic of the new heatsink I made for 4x4Dragons Streamlight. Its solid copper, cut from a 3/4" pipe cap. The lip centers the star, and to hold it tightly in place I will wire each negative solder tab down and put a drop of solder ontop of them to complete the ground circuit, that is if the star of the replacement LED isnt shorted positive....

i'd be interested if i wasn't already trying to get someon to mod my Streamlight 3AA Tasklight(not twintask) with a Red/Orange Lux III....... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

you could always just take the lux back out of this light and put it in my SL 3aa for me and you'd be making some money and also be keeping the costco light to experiment with another mod........ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Its a 3AA luxeon, the stock heatsink was a thin piece of steel ?!&*#$(*!

BTW I'm off to Costco in about 30 minutes to see about getting more lights, cross your fingers!
