Question. How did a q mini have an AA body and cr123 body and clicky tailcap?

The extra battery tube with the Q mini is actually a separate full sized AA battery tube, with clicky tail and tube cap on the other end. One is a Quark Mini complete 123 flashlight, the other is a full sized AA tube, tail and cap. As such the parts do not interchange.

A note on PentagonLights:
The Pentagonlight X1 and X2 lights take Surefire 6P style drop ins. The Pentagonlight X3 ( 3x CR123, or 2x 17500) takes a custom drop in with a larger bezel. They will be available in XP-L V5 by the end of the week. (Hopefully) Here is a pic of the prototype XM-L drop in. (Installed)

Very good question, Gunga. The extra body turns into a spare battery tube when not in use. A small cap is provided. The entire kit is :Two interchangeable bodies,(Twisty and clicky) one head and an interchangeable tube cap.

That head will not fit on that other body. That is a full size Quark body, and the other light is a Mini.
