Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone can share any info they have about this flashlight.

My partners grandfather passed away and we inherited this beautiful vintage flashlight.

It's an Eveready, embossed with "Made in Hong Kong" and engraved with " "Eveready" case no. 2500".

It's entirely metal, bar the part where the light comes out of course which is glass (it has a pipi shell shaped chip in it on the inside which I think is a cute quirk of use and a life lived).

Would love to know of it's history if anyone knows the year it was made or anything like that? Also what size battery it might take? A 'C' sized battery is too large but an 'AA' far too small. There's no corrosion inside and the bulb filament looks intact so it would be wicked if we could get it going.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I really love to know the history of things.

Ngā mihi, thank you!

I forgot the name of that battery but you can't find it anymore. I have a similar size Ray O Vac, it is best to use a 3-cell E10 bulb with a 21700 / 18650 li-ion battery.

Its a 2r10 or duplex.
As mentioned 3 cell bulb and a 21700 li ion works great.
A xenon or halogen high power bike light bulb in the 3.6-4v range will wake it up .
A neighbor has such a light .
He showed it to me and explained it was a pretty paperweight without a battery.
It now has a 21700 and a 3.8v 1a xenon bulb in it.
He vapes so he was already familiar with li ion.
Iirc a standard 3 cell e10 bulb is a #13.
A 5ah 21700 will run one over 16 hours on a charge
