how much throw do we need ? really!

Around the farm, 150 yards is about the most I ever need. The K1 does that easily. I also have a Thor 3 LEP, which is simply a toy. It is fun to play with in much wider open places than here.

The advantage of a genuine thrower is you can point and highlight something at a distance, the 600-1000m or throw do that adequately for where I work. In lrt tunnels everything is covered in the brake dust of the train and that eats more than reflects light. If the light can throw further it just makes it easier to see the other side of the station

Today I saw a police officer pull over a speeder with dark tinted windows and thought a thrower would assist him seeing inside the car without blinding himself like if he used a really bright flooder.
too much throw is no good for tinted windows - the glare makes it hard to see inside. not too floody and not too throwy is best for this. alot of cr123 tactical lights work, well as does the LED AAA mini mag.
