Business man doing business man things. Can't blame him for adapting to the times. "Swiss Army Pocket Tool" would be my bet for a re-branding of non-bladed offerings. I don't think this is anything new. Doesn't Leatherman offer bladeless models?

I agree. Having vacationed in Europe a few times (and will again this year) and dealt with their knife paranoia and ridiculous laws.
