LED Flickering - Fenix P3DQ5

Hi There,

I just switched on my Fenix P3D Q5 and when I switched it to high the LED start to rapidly flicker. I did some testing and here is what happens.

Low mode operates as normal
Mid mode operates normal for a few seconds and then the output dramatically drops and the LED begins to rapidly flicker
High mode immediately has an output drop and the rapid flicker
Turbo mode also has an output drop and rapid flicker.

SES and strobe both flicker as well.

As this is the first and only LED I own, I am not sure what the problem is. It is fairly new (maybe 2 months) and has not been used for long periods of time.

Any ideas?

ya try new or newly charged batts. The real fast flicker is the low batt indicator on Fenix lights.

Cool. Thanks guys, it was the batteries. I didn't even suspect it would be the batteries because I haven't run it for anywhere near the time that fenix states it will last (batteries were brand new). Perhaps 45 minutes all up at the most - and not all on turbo mode.

Rechargeable batteries?? Runtime will be in the neighborhood of half on RCR123 cells. Otherwise, clean the contacts with an alcohol swab. Dirty contacts can drastically reduce battery life.
