You know scout24, they make a 17500 primary cell. I have seen them for around 8 or so dollars. Not cheap but would allow insane low output runtime. Just thought you would like to know.

There are also the 14505 3.0 volt non-rechargeable Lithium AA size
battery that is now available. One of the on line battery dealers is
offering them for $1.50 USD. Nominal capacity is 1500 mAh at 3.0
volts. Basically the same as a CR123A battery. That adds a new
level of performance for a single AA battery application. I am including
this information because the Logan optional battery compartment for
the 17500 can also use this battery. However the other optional battery
compartment that can use two AA batteries can not, as the total voltage
exceeds the capability of the Logan's electronics.

Using the two AA battery compartment with Alkaline batteries the run time
for this test would be 31 days.
